Garde Timber provide various Dressing Services when you purchase a rustic natural edge slab. Our slab dressing includes levelling and sanding so both faces are parallel with each other – usually a 40 mm finish. We have a 1350 mm wide Twin belt sander to sand to a premium finish.We cut or shape the natural edges so they are smooth to touch and ready for polishing. If you are planning on doing this yourself please note that coating of your single piece slab should be sealed on all faces as soon as possible to prevent cupping.

Garde Timber offers a polishing service to finish your amazing timber project be it a Solid Hardwood bench top or Single piece Slab,we can value add this piece by finishing it in a 2 Pack Commercial Grade Polyurethane coating.Expertly finished to enhance the colour and grain with a choice of Gloss levels in Matt,Satin,Semi Gloss or High Gloss.Once cured,this coating will give years of service in high traffic and wet areas such as kitchen bench tops,hotel bars and vanity tops.We offer clear coating only ,staining not available.

Oiling a deck is not a job you or your builder can avoid, it’ll need to be done at some stage. The other big benefit during installation is protection from unexpected weather.
We offer Equisol’s environmentally-friendly linseed oil base is specially formulated with mould and algae inhibitors to help Equisol nourish and preserve timber. Enhanced UV absorbers also help control the effect of sunlight exposure.
The formulation increases rot resistance and helps stabilise timber’s sugar content, which provides food for decay-causing moulds and fungi.
